Performers Dance Academy provides a range of classes for pre-school, infants, young children, teenagers, students and adults. Classes also incorporate the Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus and The Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing Modern and tap syllabus. These societies are two of the main societies recognised worldwide for their professional development in quality dance tuition. Classes include:
- Nursery Classes
Nursery Classes are intended to introduce children to the joy of dancing to music. They are encouraged to develop their imagination & co-ordination skills & although the atmosphere is relaxed, the children learn how to work in a disciplined manner in their ballet adventure and tap class.
- Pre-Junior & Junior 1 Classes
Pre-Junior and Junior 1 classes are intended as an introduction to the more formal styles of ballet, tap and modern/jazz incorporating Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabi.
- Junior 2 & 3 Classes
Junior 2 & 3 classes are intended as a development of the dance styles of ballet, tap & modern/jazz incorporating Royal Academy of Dance and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabi.
- Pre Senior & Senior Classes
Pre Senior & Senior classes further develop the student’s skills and ability in ballet, tap, modern and jazz as they progress through the levels. Class work also incorporates Royal Academy of Dance, pointe work where appropriate and Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing syllabi.
- Street Dance Classes
Fun & energetic classes learning a range of urban dance styles such as hip hop, funk, breakdancing, lockin, poppin, whacking & house. Classes are offered at junior and senior levels as well as a boys only class. Opportunity to do competition work.
Children will be grouped in terms of ability and not necessarily in terms of age. Please contact the school for advice about classes and class times.
- Adult Beginner/Improvers Class (age 16+)
Adults new to tap or wishing to improve on their tap skills can enjoy our adult beginner/improvers class. This class is an enjoyable and fun lively class where all abilities can learn technique and style whilst learning routines to varied music styles
- Sculpt Callanetics MAE Technique (age 16+)
Callanetics uses small, precise movements to tighten and reshape your body quickly while increasing strength, flexibility and body alignment. Callanetics is non-impact and easy on the joints.
